What Makes Our Approach Unique

Our global success is driven by our data-based approach, our emphasis on language and holistic child development, and our unique 5-level generalization (R.E.A.L.) program.

Individualized Programs

Every child is unique. We create customized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments tailored to each child’s specific needs and learning style.

Data-Driven Decisions

We meticulously collect and analyze data daily, weekly, and quarterly to track progress and optimize each child’s program for maximum effectiveness.

Real-World Generalization

Our unique 5-level R.E.A.L. program ensures skills learned in therapy transfer quickly to everyday life at home, school, and in the community.

Our Comprehensive Methodology

1

Individualized ABA Intervention Program

Each child’s ABA intervention program is uniquely created for his or her needs based on a comprehensive functional assessment that identifies core deficits and excesses.

Customized Treatment Plans

No two programs are alike – each is designed specifically for your child’s unique needs

Request wants & needs

Comment about the world

Answer questions

Read, write & respond

2

Language Development Priority

Acquiring language is one of our primary goals. Each child learns to request wants and needs, to comment about the world, to answer questions, to imitate the language of others, and eventually to read, write and respond in their own words.

Multiple Communication Methods: We use several evidence-based methods including PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) for those with significant deficits in vocalizing. We concurrently teach vocalization to give the foundational skills for language development.

3

5-Level R.E.A.L. Generalization Program

ABC's unique 5-level generalization program enables learned skills to be used quickly in everyday life

Developed by Co-Founder Brenda Terzich-Garland (Recreating Environment to Accelerate Learning, R.E.A.L., 1996), this systematic 5-level program enables skills learned in therapy to be used quickly in everyday life.

This is a systematic approach to generalize skills from a structured environment to the natural environment for integration into daily life.

Skills learned in therapy are only valuable when children can use them at home, at school, and in their community. Our R.E.A.L. program bridges this critical gap.

4

Data-Based Decision Making

We believe that data specific to behaviors of each child should be the fundamental basis for their program. Data of how the child reacts is meticulously collected each session and analyzed fully to see the child’s rate of improvement and determine how to progress.

Evidence-Based

Every decision is backed by measurable data and scientific evidence

1:1 or Small Group

Child to Adult Ratio

Ensuring focused, individualized attention for optimal learning

5

1:1 or Small Group Child / Adult Ratio

ABC believes in ensuring the right child/adult ratio that is appropriate for each child.

A child’s program may start as a 1:1 or a 2:1, and only when the child can benefit from peer interaction do we enhance the program to include small groups.

Progressive Integration: We carefully assess each child’s readiness for peer interaction and gradually introduce group activities when developmentally appropriate.

6

Parent Training & Family Involvement

Parents play a central role in a child’s development. We aim to give the best training to ensure a consistent approach in both our center and at the child’s home.

Open Door Policy

Parents can observe sessions upon appointment to see techniques in action and learn how to apply them at home.

7 Week Group Parent Training

Parent/caregiver training is included as part of the package. This is a 7-week group training course to maximize effectivity of the program for your child.

7

Positive Programming Approach

To address behavior problems that prevent children from learning skills, ABC uses Positive Programming Procedures.

Rather than focusing on eliminating negative behaviors, we emphasize teaching positive replacement behaviors and functional communication skills. This evidence-based approach leads to lasting behavioral change and improved quality of life.

What is the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children – P (EIPIC-P)?

EIPIC-P is a programme administered by the Singapore government’s Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) that enables Singaporean or Permanent Resident children who meet criteria to avail of financial subsidies for early intervention.

The children must be between 2 – 6 years old, and recommended by a professional (e.g. recognized paediatrician) for early intervention. The financial subsidy for Singaporean children is dependent on means-tested household income.

ABC Center is honored to have been appointed as an EIPIC-P provider since the programme’s inception in 2018 (previously known as PPIP programme). If you have questions on how to avail of the programme, please contact us and we can guide you through the process.
